Our Story

DAVET was founded by Adeline Mukayirere, a woman with a passion for providing consistent, reliable and better paid employment opportunities to rural women and youth. Since our inception in 2015, we have quickly developed from an agri-vetstore that supplies inputs to farmers in Bugesera into a multi-faceted agri business that amongst other activities, operates its own farm, provides technical assistance to smallholder farmers and cooperatives, and connects them to export markets. We now work with four cooperatives, spanning over 43ha of land and constituting over 418 members and counting!

What We Do

With Rwanda’s limited land area and intensive cropping, coupled with the wish to increase value per unit area, DAVET has selected horticultural value chains (french beans, chilli, passion fruits, beet roots, pepper) and mushrooms as potential crops.

Our intervention areas: Bugesera, Kamonyi, Rutsiro districts.
